6. St. Louis, Missouri to Oregonia, Ohio
Friday, July 18
Friday was a marathon drive from St. Louis, across the Mississippi, into Illinois, then into Indiana. The countryside was full of cornfields and a few major cities. We passed through Effingham, Illinois on the way to Indianapolis, Indiana, before arriving in Dayton, Ohio and the Olive Branch Campground in Oregonia. By then, we were ready for some rest from all the traveling and were looking forward to spending a few nights in one place near one of our major destinations, Gettysburg.
