Pat McKenzie 1940 - 2020
Suddenly, just before his 80th birthday, Pat passed away in his sleep. Officially, he was my wife Barbara's brother-in-law and our children's uncle. Unofficially, he was always a brother and and fellow adventurer. His life set the highest standards of what it means to be an outstanding man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. The tributes below and the link to his 50th wedding anniversary pictures and beyond tell the story:
The "Old Folks" gathered with Bev and Kim and her daughters at Bill & Lana's home sharing memories of Pat:
After seeing a large buck grazing in our neighbor's yard we received the sad news that Pat had passed away. The deer was a reminder of how he loved to feed the deer in his yard and led his grandkids on hunting trips showing them how to camp and track deer. He led friends and family on many outdoor adventures. I joined him once on a fishing trip to Eagle Lake. He knew I wanted to catch a prize Eagle Lake trout, so he guided the boat in the wind and crashing waves while I caught fish. He would put off his fishing until later so that I could have the first shot at the trophy fish. That's the Pat they we all knew and loved.
