MONTREAL REUNION
Tired from our genealogical travels we spotted the Crescendo Restaurant along the Lachine Rapids. It was overpriced, but the Italian food and house wine were perfect for weary travelers.
After dinner we found our way to the New Residence Hall at McGill University (letter A in map above). We met several SOBs at the check-in desk then headed to our room. After dropping off luggage we headed for Spencer's suite for a few drinks. Barbara returned to our room after a few minutes and I stayed to enjoy the company of the band of brothers for several hours, a great start for the reunion.
Next morning we joined everyone for the buffet breakfast and made plans for the day. Spencer led us through the McGill campus where we took our first group photo.

Our next stop was the Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde where Spencer pointed out some highlights.
Then Spencer guided us to the Bell Centre, home of the Hockey gods.
There Spencer and Broph paid special homage.
After lunch Spencer took us on the subway to St. Joseph's Oratory.
He recalled his days as an official tour guide at the shrine and told us all about the shrine and about Brother Andre.
That evening we gathered at Restaurant La Colombe for a sumptuous supper.
After dinner it was time for a Jazz Fest/Pub Evening and more drinks and philosophy in Spencer's suite. Some were sleep deprived when they gathered for the next day's breakfast buffet at McGill's New Residence. After breakfast, Spencer led another expedition, this time to Old Montreal, Notre Dame, Place Jacques Cartier, and the Old Port.

After an ad lib lunch we had time to wander around old Montreal until the traditional Circle at 3:00. Then it was time for more Jazz fest and spontaneous get-togethers at McGill.
On Sunday we gathered at the Newman Center for Mass and good-byes. Our former classmate, Fr. Rich Authier, presided at the Mass after George Stanton presented a few awards to Pat and Spencer.

To Spencer Boudreau and George Stanton we say: Thanks for the memories, “Je me souviens” This motto of Quebec cannot be readily expressed in English words but which may be paraphrased as conveying the meaning: “We do not forget, and will never forget, our ancient lineage, traditions and memories of all the past." This was a reunion and an introduction to Quebec that we will never forget.
