CHRISTMAS 2004
I joined Jeff and Joe for a day of skiing just before Christmasat Heavenly Valley. We had some spectacular runs until we tackled Gun Barrel, a challenging, vertical mogul run. I lost control on some ice and went sliding at race car speed toward a ski lift tower fracturing the femur, humerus and a few other bones on my left side. A helicopter flew me off to Reno as Jeff and Joe watched. Once I was out of ICU and everyone had checked on me, the Christmas celebration could begin.
