August to November 2002
Just as school was starting, we received Tina and Eric's announcement
of the birth of their daughter, Bailee. A few months later they sent us
a family Christmas card with her beautiful smile.
Later on, Toni and Heather sent us Hunter's latest picture which went on display
with Barbara's 2002-2003 class and our Commissioning Certificate.
Somehow we managed to find time for another trip to the beach
with Jennifer, Wyatt, Helena, and Rachel.
Tyler found the perfect pumpkin and Caitlin and Jack put on their special Halloween costumes.
HELENA'S FIRST BIRTHDAY
Helena wasn't sure what the cake and candle were all about
even though she had posed for some pictures a few days earlier.
She wondered why her brother was making noises and Jack and Caitlin were wearing party hats. She was amazed at the balloons and didn't know what to do with all the presents. Once Grandpa tilted the cake towards her, she grabbed a handful and celebrated.
Then she tore into the presents and entertained the whole family.
From now on she would know what cakes and presents are all about.
After the party we checked out the progress on the new hall at St. Isidore's.
Raising money and completing the building project would keep us busy for the next two years.
ST FRANCIS REUNION
St. Francis High School Class of 1962 alumni and a few others from nearby years gathered at the former Salesian Junior Seminary in Richmond to celebrate the 40th anniversary of our graduation. Our class spent two years in Richmond before the seminary moved to St. Francis H.S. in Watsonville. A great reunion program in Richmond turned somewhat sour when several of the alumni shared sexual abuse stories. None of the alumni had realized how many fellow classmates had experienced abuse. Still, we shared autobiographies of our past 40 years of lives and realized that we had grown past some dark times and built successful careers. Some of us traveled to St. Francis H.S. the following day to attend the blessing and dedication of St. Francis Central High School (coed) and to take a group picture. See: reunion summary.
