The snow was getting to us, so it was time for a trip to Southern California
It was Saturday afternoon, and the sun was warm at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
Austin loved the little train that rocked and the big train that went around the zoo.
He liked the train whistle, the crowds, and being carried by Mommy and Daddy,
and the gorilla, playing in the park, and the giraffe near the beach.
The zoo was an exciting place.
Austin didn't want to have dinner on the wharf...
until he could smell the food and check out the menu.
The peaches were lousy but the French fries were fantastic.
We said good-bye to the wharf and sailboats as the sun went down
On Sunday morning we checked out the pirate ship in the Ventura harbor.
Later we visited Rachel at Manhattan Beach...
and soaked in some more sun.
On Monday we visited the old grammar school in Fresno that my dad helped build...
and took pictures of the old statues in the new church...
and of our old Fresno home on West Fedora.
