CHRISTMAS 2009

In December we joined the Sidlers for the school Christmas program. Wyatt and Helena sang Christmas carols with their classmates.

Steve won the raffle prize for book fair credits, an early Christmas present for Wyatt and Helena. All this singing put us into the mood for Christmas Eve a few days later at the Collins family home in Chico. It was a great celebration with more singing and presents. Santa Claus even showed up.

Christmas Day was even more spectacular.

We arrived just in time for breakfast. Jeff was sneaking out the door to assemble the trampoline while others grabbed a quick breakfast and played with the kids…

…meanwhile, Mikayla waited patiently as Jeff read the directions to set up the trampoline, and Steve and Joe and all the guys helped tug and pull all the pieces together.

Soon everyone was outside playing, waiting for the trampoline to be finished.

The line formed quickly when it was ready. Then the jumping began.

Nearby, the new tetherball was catching the attention of adults and children alike.

Outdoor games gave way to inside fun, more time to play with toys, presents, and to watch Mikayla’s feats of magic (with a little coaching from Rachel).

A few days later, the Acevedo family traveled from Santa Paula to Chico…

...for an extended Christmas and fun with the cousins in the park
