18. Niles, Michigan to Newton, Iowa

Wednesday, July 30

As we departed Niles on Day Eighteen, we faced a quiet day on I-80 across Illinois

and into the heart of Iowa. We could reflect on our Niagara Falls and Chicago

adventures as we wandered across the Midwest. I guess we needed a little breather.

We passed through rolling hills, flatland, and endless corn fields. We ended up

a few miles northeast of Des Moines at the Rolling Acres Family Campground

in Newton Iowa. It was a bargain stop at $18.50 for one night.
